Instructions

Step. 1: Download the 3D Shirt Box and Tie Free SVG

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the 3D Shirt Box and Tie Free SVG

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together. You do not need to resize this design. Please know that if you decide to resize it, you will not be able to use the insert, because resizing will change the size of the circles. It is prepared to cut and will produce a craft that is approximately 4.5in width x 1.5in height x 5.5in depth.

Once the design is uploaded, you will need to UNGROUP the file. Click the design and then in the upper right corner, click the ungroup button ONCE and only once.

Step 3: Change Cut Lines to SCORE lines

After you have ungrouped the file, look for three (3) solid cut lines, in the LAYERS panel. Select them, then move over to the OPERATION tab and change the operation from Basic Cut to SCORE.

At this time, you will notice that the lines in the LAYERS panel have changed to dashed lines.

Step 4: Attach the Groupings to the Canvas

Once you have changed the cut lines to a SCORE line you are ready to attach. Select each individual grouping of the score line and solid shape layer. Then, right-click on the design, and a pop-up menu will appear. Scroll to find the ATTACH button. You can also select the ATTACH button towards the bottom right of your screen.

Please Note: Each grouping of score line and shape layer must be attached to the canvas individually. You must do this three (3) times.

Then click Make in the upper top corner.

Step 5: Mat Preview

After you click Make, a new window will open with your mat preview. When you are on this screen, you will see the software has prepared seven (7) mats for the project. Take note of the order of the mats. Examine the left side of your screen that has the different mats.

Look for the mats that have SCORE and BASIC CUT. You should see three (3) mats that have these operations. (The remaining mats will only have Basic Cut.) If you do not see both of these operations for three (3) mats, click cancel and repeat step three (3) of changing that cut line to a score line.

Arrange your card stock and mats to match the order on your screen. Then click CONTINUE at the bottom right.

Step 6: Medium 80lb Card Stock Cut Settings

Once you click continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I am using the card stock setting of Medium Card Stock 80lb Cut Setting. Check again to make sure that your scoring stylus/wheel and blade are ready for use. Check to make sure that your Light Grip mats are in the correct order and match the sequence your software has prepared. Secure your card stock to your mat with your brayer. After you have completed this check, you are ready to begin your cut.

Step 7: Assemble the 3D Shirt Box and Tie Free SVG
