-Materials List

Step 1: Download the 3D Soccer Ball Money Gift Paper Craft Free SVG Cut File

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the 3D Soccer Ball Money Gift Paper Craft Free SVG Cut File

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together. It is not necessary to resize the design. The design is scaled to fit the width of US dollar bill. (If you’re out of the US and your currency is of a different size, you can always fold your currency in half so that it can fit through the slot.) In the upper right corner, select the Ungroup button ONCE to ungroup the elements of the file from each other.

Step 3: Change Cut Lines to SCORE Lines

After you ungroup the design, you will need to change the cut lines to SCORE lines. You can select to change these lines by scrolling through and selecting each cut layer in the LAYERS panel. This step is necessary otherwise the design will cut into multiple pieces. Once all four (4) of the cut line layers are selected, move over to the OPERATIONS panel, select the drop-down arrow and then click SCORE. The cut lines will immediately change to SCORE lines. This will be evident because you will see dashed lines on your screen.

Step 4: Attach Soccer Ball Layers to the Canvas Separately

Now that you have changed the cut lines to SCORE lines, you must ATTACH the layers. Use your mouse to drag a box and select ONE grouping of the soccer ball layer. Right-click inside the box and a drop-down menu will open. Scroll and click attach or you can select attach in the lower right corner of your screen. Then repeat these steps for the remaining soccer ball layers.

Step 5: Duplicate Pentagon Layer 11 Times

After you have ATTACHED the soccer ball layers, you must duplicate the pentagon layer. Select the pentagon and in the upper right, under layers select the plus icon and duplicate the layer eleven (11) times. Once you have finished duplicating, you should have a total of twelve (12) pentagons. Now you can select Make It in the upper right corner.

Step 6: Mat Preview

After selecting Make It, a new screen will open with your Mat Preview screen. You will see that the software has prepared five (5) mats. Use the scroll bar to check that for the soccer ball elements, each mat has SCORE and BASIC CUT. Then find the mat that has a long, single element. Select the element on the mat and then click the three dots at the top left of the bounding box. Click Move object and a new mini-window will open showing all the mats prepared. Select the mat that has the second long, single element and select continue.

Using your left scroll bar, find the mat that now has both of the long elements. Select the elements and using the rotate icon, to the top right of the bounding box selection, rotate the elements so that they will all fit on the mat. Once you have adjusted the elements, select the CONTINUE button in the lower right corner.

Step 7: Card Stock Cut Settings

Once you have clicked continue, your next window will be your card stock cut settings. You will notice that the software has now prepared four (4) mats. Use the scroll bar to the left to confirm this.

For this craft, I will cut on the Card Stock 80lb setting. Again, take note that your machine operation is Basic Cut and Score. Be sure to have your scoring stylus or wheel loaded into your machine. Prepare your with your 12in x 12in card stock. Use your Brayer to secure your card stock to you mats. Then, once you are satisfied that everything is correct, begin your cut.
