Step 1: Download the Carrot House Layered Paper Craft Free SVG Cut File

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Carrot House Layered Paper Craft Free SVG Cut File

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together. You do not need to resize or ungroup this design. It is prepared to cut and will produce a craft that is approximately 8.4in width x 9.5in height. However, if you wish to resize the design to make it larger or smaller, you may do so by grabbing the handle bars at the corner of the bounding box and moving inward or outward.

Scroll through the LAYERS panel until you see a HOT PINK layer. Select the layer and then click the eyeball to the right of the layer. This will hide these layer until we are ready to cut them on Kraft board. Once you have hidden the layer, select Make in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Check Mat Preview

Once you have selected Make, a new window will open with your mat preview screen. On this screen you will see that the software has prepared sixteen (16) mats for the cut. Using your scroll bar to the left, take note of each layer and the order of the layers. Prepare your card stock to match the order that the software has prepared.

Then after you have noted the layers, ensure that your first mat is selected. If the first mat is not selected the cut order will not match the order of your card stock.

When you are ready to begin your cut, select the Continue button in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Card Stock Settings, Load Mat and Cut Materials

After selecting Continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I will use the Card Stock for Intricate Cuts Setting. Check again the order of the mats, arrangement of the elements, that Basic Cut is the operation that will be completed and ensure that your card stock order matches the software order. Use your brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once you are ready to cut, load your mat into your machine and begin your cut.

Step 5: Cut Kraft Board Layer

When you have returned to your main canvas, go through the layers panel and hide all the layers you just cut by selecting the eyeballs to the right of each layer. Then unhide (by selecting the eyeball again) the Hot Pink layer. Select Make in the upper right corner. Select Continue in the lower right corner of your screen to get to your Cut Settings window. Then select the cut setting for Kraft Board. If necessary, Browse All Materials until you find the setting. Check again to make sure that your machine will complete the Basic Cut. Use your Brayer to secure the kraft board to your Light Grip Cutting Mat and select go.
