It’s the perfect activity to do with littles or for your own enjoyment. Scroll below for the written tutorial and video assembly.

Instructions

Step 1: Download the Free Christmas Gingerbread House SVG Cut File

You can download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can also get the password for my library by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder to your computer. Take note where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Free Christmas Gingerbread House SVG Cut File

The SVG file will upload grouped together. There is no need to ungroup or adjust the design. It is sized at approximately 11.5in x 10.7in. However, if you would like to make it smaller you are free to do so. After the design is uploaded into Design Space, click Make it in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Mat Preview

After you click Make it, a new window will open with your mat preview. When on this screen, you will see the layers for the project. Look at the top toolbar and take note of the number of mats needed. It should show 11 mats.

However, we can adjust the layers so that not as many mats are needed. Using the scroll bar to the left of your screen scroll until you see the two white layers. The white peppermints can be moved to the layer that has the white icing of the house. You can move the peppermints by selecting each element on the mat. When the three dots appear, click it and then select move object. A new pop-up menu will occur showing the different mats. Select the white icing layer and the peppermint will move to that mat. Position the peppermint so that it will not overlap the cutting of the icing. Repeat this step for the remaining peppermints.

Next find the yellow layers. Move the wreath circle and two gum drops to the yellow house layer using the same steps for moving the peppermints.

Next find the two green layers. Move the outer wreath and two gum drops to the green house layer using the same steps for the peppermints. Once you have rearranged these elements, take note of the order of the cut colors. Arrange your cardstock on your Light Grip Cutting Mats to match the cutting order of the software. When you are satisfied, select the continue button in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Cardstock Cut Setting

Once you have clicked continue, your next window will have your cardstock cut settings. For this craft, I will cut each layer on the Cardstock 80lb setting. Use the scroll bar to the left of your screen to again take note of the order of the mats. Again, confirm that your cardstock order matches the cutting order on your screen. When you are assured that everything is correct, begin your cut.

Step 5: Assemble the FREE Christmas Gingerbread House

That’s it! You have come to the end of cutting the Gingerbread House and you are ready to assemble. Check out this short video of the assembly!

There is no link for joining only this one for comments? I have searched your pages and forwarded it to a few friends who also cannot find the link?

I don’t know why but your newsletter form does not show up for me either. I really would like to be on your e-mail list but there just isn’t any form for me to sign up on.
