Eggs and Bunnies are symbols often associated with Easter. We often visualize the bunny hopping and hiding eggs as the Easter egg hunting begins. These thoughts are the inspiration for this Easter Egg Shaker Craft Free SVG Cut File. Use your Cricut, Silhouette or other cutting machine and your favorite color combination of paper to create this cute shaker for the Easter holiday season. Scroll below for a written tutorial and video assembly. Happy Crafting!

Instructions

Step 1: Download the Easter Egg Shaker Free SVG Cut File

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Easter Egg Shaker Free SVG Cut File

Upload the Easter Egg Shaker SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together. It is sized to produce a bottle approximately 7in height x 5.5in width. There is no need to ungroup or adjust the design unless you wish to create the egg smaller or larger. If you do, you can resize the design at this step by using your mouse to drag the box (surrounding the design) larger or smaller. After you have the design the size you want it, go to the layers menu and click the ungroup button. This will ungroup all the elements of the file.

Step 3: Hide the Acetate Layer

Once the design is ungrouped, hide the acetate layer. In the layers panel, select the light gray, solid egg layer. It should be the second layer in the layers panel. Select the eyeball directly to the right of the layer. Clicking the eyeball will hide the layer.

Once the acetate layer is hidden, you will immediately see all the remaining layers that were underneath the acetate layer. There is no need to rearrange any of the layers underneath. Select Make It in the upper right corner.

Step 4: Mat Preview

Immediately after selecting Make It, your Mat Preview screen will open. You will see that the software has prepared 9 (nine) mats. Take the time to arrange your Light Grip Cardstock mats with coordinating colored card stock in the order that your software has prepared. Make sure that each mat also shows Basic Cut. You will note that the bunny eye and bunny are on separate mats. The bunny eye is very small. If you wish, you can consolidate both the eye and bunny onto one mat, in order to reduce the number of mats, however, it is not necessary. After completing these steps, click Continue in the lower right corner.

Step 5: Card Stock Cut Settings

Once you have selected Continue, your next window will be your card stock cut setting. For this craft, I will cut each layer on the card stock 80lb setting. Use the scroll bar to the left of your screen to again take note of the order of the mats. Again, confirm that your card stock order matches the order on your screen. When you are assured that everything is correct, begin your cut. After all your cuts complete, return to your canvas screen.

Step 6: Cut Acetate Layer

Once your cuts have completed, return to the main canvas. Go through the layers that you just cut and either delete or hide them all. Then select the eyeball to unhide only the acetate layer. After you have unhidden the acetate layer, select Make It in the upper right corner. Then your mat preview screen will open and show that the software has prepared one mat. Select continue in the lower right corner of your screen to go to the card stock cut settings window.

Set your machine to cut on the Foil Acetate cut setting. Check again to make sure that your machine will do a Basic Cut. Use your Brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once your check is complete, start your cut. .
