Instructions

Step 1: Download the Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holder Free SVG

You can download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can also get the password for my library by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder to your computer. Take note where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holder Free SVG File into Design Space and Ungroup

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together and is designed to fit the average Blow Pop or Tootsie Pop. You do not need to resize the design. It is ready to cut. Once uploaded, you will need to ungroup the file. Click the design and then in the upper right corner, click the ungroup button.

Step 3: Change Cut Line to SCORE lines

After you have ungrouped the file, move the top, white Ghost layer away from the base bottom layer. DO NOT move the solid cut line layer and the black, base Ghost layer. Arrange the top Ghost layer so that it does not overlap the base layer. In the LAYERS panel, look for the solid cut line. Select it, then move over to the OPERATION tab and change the operation from Basic Cut to SCORE. At this time, you will notice that the lines in the LAYERS panel have changed to dashed lines. Also, you will no longer see the dashed lines on the base black layer but do not fear, they are there.

Step 4: Attach the layers

Now, once you have changed the cut line on the black Ghost base layer to a SCORE line you are ready to attach. Drag your mouse across the black, Ghost base layer and the SCORE line on the canvas screen to create a bounding box around those layers. Then, right click in the box you just created, and a pop-up menu will appear. Scroll to find the ATTACH button. You can also select the ATTACH button towards the bottom right of your screen. Then click Make it in the upper top corner.

Step 5: Check Mat Preview

After you click Make it, a new window will open with your mat preview. When you are on this screen, you will see the software has prepared two mats for the project. Take note of the order of the mats. Which one is first? The white Ghost layer or the black base layer. Arrange your card stock and mats to match the order on your screen.

Also check to make sure that your machine will perform both operations: Score and Basic Cut for the black, Ghost base layer. Look towards the left of your screen and find where it shows the operations for Score AND Basic Cut. If you do not see both of these operations, click cancel and repeat step 3 of changing the cut line on the black Ghost base layer to a score line. If both score and basic cut are visible, click continue at the bottom right.

Step 6: Medium Card Stock Cut Settings

Once you click continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I am using the card stock setting of Medium Card Stock 80lb Cut Setting. Check again to make sure that your scoring stylus/wheel and blade are loaded. Check to make sure that your Light Grip mats are in the correct order and match the sequence your software has prepared. After you have completed this check, you are ready to begin your cut.

Step 7: Assemble the Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holder Free SVG
