-Materials List

Step 1: Download the Happy Harvest Gnome Fall Sign Free SVG

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Happy Harvest Gnome Fall Sign Free SVG

Once you have the folder and files extracted/unzipped, upload the Layered Happy Harvest Gnome Fall Sign FREE SVG Cut File into Cricut Design Space. The SVG will upload grouped together and is sized to produce a sign that is approximately 10 in width x 8.5 in height. The design does not need to be resized or ungrouped. However, if you wish to make the design larger or smaller you may do so by grabbing the handles around the bounding box of the design and moving your mouse until you achieve your desired size. Please Note: The smaller you size the design, the more difficult it may be for your machine to cut. Plus, if you make the design larger you may need to use 12in x 12in card stock.

After you have the design uploaded on the canvas and at the size that you desire, select Make It in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Mat Preview

Once you have selected Make It, a new window will open with your mat preview screen. On this screen you will see that the software has prepared eleven (11) mats for the cut. Use the scroll bar to the left and scroll through all the layers. Take note of each layer and the order of the layers.

When you are scrolling you will note that the software has prepared two (2) mats that have only golden yellow elements. Take a close look at the mat that has two golden yellow elements. Be sure when loading your mat for this card stock that your sheet is laid just right. If it is incorrect, it will cut off the edge. To remove this possibility, use a 12in x 12in card stock.

When you are ready to begin your cut, select the Continue button in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Card Stock Cut Settings

After selecting Continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I will use the Custom Setting Card Stock for Intricate Cuts. Check again the order of the mats, arrangement of the elements and ensure that your card stock order matches the software order. Use your brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once you are ready to cut, load your mat into your machine and begin.
