Instructions

Step 1: Download the Layered Tiki Statue Free SVG Cut File

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Layered Tiki Statue Free SVG Cut File

Upload the Layered Tiki Statue FREE SVG Cut File into Cricut Design Space. The SVG will upload grouped together and is sized to produce a statue that is approximately 7 in width x 11.4 in height. The design does not need to be resized or ungrouped. However, if you wish to make the design larger or smaller you may do so by grabbing the handles around the bounding box of the design and moving your mouse until you achieve your desired size. Please Note: If you make the design larger, you will need to use 12in x 24in card stock.

Once you have the design uploaded on the canvas and at the size that you desire, select Make It in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Mat Preview

Once you have selected Make It, a new window will open with your mat preview screen. On this screen you will see that the software has prepared twelve (12) mats for the cut. Use the scroll bar to the left and scroll through all the layers. Take note of each layer and the order of the layers. After you have noted the order of the mats, select Continue in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Card Stock Cut Settings

After selecting Continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I will use the Custom Setting Card Stock for Intricate Cuts. Check again the order of the mats, arrangement of the elements and ensure that your card stock order matches the software order. Use your brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once you are ready to cut, load your mat into your machine and begin.

Step 5: Card Stock Cut Settings for Kraft Board

Once you have completed the Tiki Statue cuts, return to the main canvas in order to cut the base layers in Kraft Board. This step is necessary because the kraft board will offer support to the statue. On the main canvas, use the LAYERS scroll bar and delete or hide all the layers (select the eyeball to the right of each layer) except the two (2) large, brown bottom layers. With those two layers remaining, select Make It in the upper right corner. Your mat preview screen will open with both of the brown layers on one mat, select Continue in the lower right corner.

After clicking Continue, your card stock cut settings screen will open. Select Browse All Materials in the upper right section of your screen then scroll and click the Kraft Board material. Load your kraft board onto your mat and secure it with your brayer. Feed the mat into your machine and begin your cut.
