At the heart of the Christmas season lies the timeless story of hope and salvation. The account unfolds in the humble setting of a manger, where a precious child, hailed as the Savior is born. In the quiet stillness of that Holy Night we are reminded of the profound reason for the season. The birth of Jesus is the divine gift of redemption and love and invites all of us to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas–a celebration of our Savior who brings hope, joy and light into a dark world in need. This Savior Nativity Shaker Snowglobe Free SVG Cut File allows you to paper craft the manger scene this season. Add your own star confetti to give the shaker effect. Scroll below for the cutting steps and video assembly.

Instructions

Step 1: Download the Savior Nativity Shaker Snowglobe Free SVG

You can download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can also get the password for my library by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder to your computer. Take note where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Savior Nativity Shaker Snowglobe Free SVG File into Design Space and Hide Layers

Once you have the folder and files extracted/unzipped, upload the Savior Nativity Shaker Snowglobe Free SVG File into Cricut Design Space. The SVG will upload grouped together and will produce a globe that is approximately 6.9 in width x 7.7 in height. You do not need to resize or ungroup the design. However, if you wish to make the design larger or smaller you may do so by grabbing the handle bars at the sides of the design to resize proportionally.

Once the design is to your desired size, look through the layers panel and find the red layer that has the circle in the center. Also find the two (2) solid, hot pink layers. Look for the eyeball to the right of each selected layer and click it. These three (3) layers need to be hidden because they will be cut on a different setting.

After you have hidden the three (3) layers, select Make in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Mat Preview

Once you have selected Make, a new window will open with your mat preview screen. On this screen you will see that the software has prepared eight (8) mats for the cut. Use the scroll bar to the left and scroll through all the layers. Take note of the element arrangement on each mat and the order of the mats.

After you have finished making any adjustments to the elements and taken note of the card stock order, ensure that the first mat is selected. If the first mat is not selected the cut order will not match the order of your card stock.

When you are ready to begin your cut, select the Continue button in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Intricate Card Stock Cut Settings

After selecting Continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For the first part of the cut, I will use the Card Stock for Intricate Cut Setting. Check again the order of the mats, arrangement of the elements and ensure that your card stock order matches the software order. Use your brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once you are ready to cut, load your mat into your machine and begin.

Once your mat has finished cutting the layers, return to your canvas.

Step 5: Glitter Card Stock Cut Settings

When your cuts have completed and you have returned to your main canvas, go through the layers panel and hide all the layers you just cut by selecting the eyeballs to the right of each layer. Then unhide (by selecting the eyeball again) the red layer with a circle in the center–it should be the first layer. Select Make it in the upper right corner. Follow the prompts through the mat preview setting until you Continue to your Cut Settings window. Select the cut setting for Glitter Card Stock. If necessary Browse All Materials until you find the setting. Check again to make sure that your machine will complete the Basic Cut. Use your Brayer to secure the glitter card stock to your Light Grip Cutting Mat and select go.

Once your cut has complete, return to the main canvas for the Acetate Layer cuts.

Step 6: Acetate Card Stock Cut Settings

When you have completed your glitter cut and have returned to your main canvas, go through the layers panel and hide the glitter layer just cut by selecting the eyeball to the right of the layer. Then unhide (by selecting the eyeballs again) both Hot Pink Acetate Layers. Select Make it in the upper right corner. Follow the prompts through the mat preview setting until you Continue to your Cut Settings window. Select the cut setting for Acetate. If necessary Browse All Materials. You should be able to find the Acetate Cut Setting under the Plastic Grouping in the list. Check again to make sure that your machine will complete the Basic Cut. Use your Brayer to secure the acetate to your Light Grip Cutting Mat and select go.
