As we embrace the season of winter, nature shares delicate snowflakes that transform and coat our world, making it into a white wonderland. Venturing out into the white wonderland allows us to create snowmen that stand in our frost-kissed landscapes. And among the monochromatic beauty of snow we find red, vibrant cardinals that add that beautiful splash of color to our winter canvas. This union of snowmen and cardinals is a representation of the season’s enchantment of nature’s natural environment and our snowy companions.

Crafting and creating a blend of this union for the interior of our homes brings a little bit of the winter wonderland inside. This Snowman with Cardinal Winter Wreath Free SVG Cut File is easy and fun to cut using your Cricut, Silhouette or other cutting machine. Use your own favorite combination of card stock colors to add your personal flair. Scroll below for the easy cutting steps and video tutorial. Enjoy and Happy Crafting!

Instructions

Step 1: Download the Snowman with Cardinal Winter Wreath Free SVG Cut File

You can download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can also get the password for my library by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder to your computer. Take note where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Snowman with Cardinal Winter Wreath Free SVG Cut File into Design Space

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together and is prepared to cut just the way it is. You can see that the file is designed to create a Snowman Wreath that is approximately 11.3in x 13.9in. However, you do not need to resize or ungroup anything because each mat will need a max card stock sheet of 12x12in. When you are ready to begin your cut select Make in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Mat Preview

Once you have selected Make It, a new window will open with your mat preview screen. On this screen you will see that the software has prepared thirteen (13) mats for the cut. Take note of each layer and the order of the layers.

Make adjustments that you feel may be necessary. Please take note that the Cardinal beak mat/layer is VERY small. If you have adjusted your size and made the overall design smaller, these may be extremely difficult for your machine to cut. Your best bet would be to use a paint pen or acrylic paint and paint on the beak layer.

Once you have made your adjustments to the mats and taken note of the card stock order, ensure that the first mat is selected. If the first mat is not selected the cut order will not match the order of your card stock.

When you are ready to begin your cut, select the Continue button in the lower right corner.

Step 4: Card Stock Setting, Load Mat and Cut Materials

After selecting Continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I will use the Card Stock for Intricate Cuts Setting. Check again the order of the mats, arrangement of the elements and ensure that your card stock order matches the software order. Use your brayer to secure your card stock to your mat. Once you are ready to cut, load your mat into your machine and begin.
