As nature begins to bloom again, gardening enthusiasts and crafters find inspiration in the beauty of the outdoors. Gardening is like a blank canvas for outdoor expression. And as crafters we can incorporate elements from our gardening into our crafting projects. This Welcome to the Garden Gnome Sign Free SVG Cut file allows you to make that transition and expression in your own unique way. Using your Cricut, Silhouette or other cutting machine and your favorite combination of colored card stock, you can bring this design to life in your creative way. Scroll below for the easy cutting steps and short video assembly. Happy Crafting!

Instructions

Step 1: Download the Welcome to the Garden Gnome Sign Free SVG Cut File

Download the SVG file in my free Resource Library HERE. You can get the password for my library by filling out the newsletter form at the bottom of this post.

Save the downloaded zipped folder on your computer. Pay attention to where on your computer the folder downloads and then unzip the folder to extract the contents. The folder and files must be unzipped (extracted) before you can upload the SVG file into your cutting software.

Step 2: Upload the Welcome to the Garden Gnome Sign Free SVG Cut File

Upload the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. The SVG file will upload grouped together. You do not need to resize or ungroup this design. It is prepared to cut and will produce a craft that is approximately 10.3in width x 8.2in height. However, if you wish to resize the design to make it larger or smaller, you may do so by grabbing the handle bars at the corner of the bounding box and moving inward or outward. If you make the design larger, you may need to switch to 12in x 12in card stock. Then select Make in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Check Mat Preview

After you click Make it, a new window will open with your mat preview. When you are on this screen, you will see the software has prepared twelve (12) mats for the project. Take a few moments to scroll through the mats and view the elements. Arrange your card stock and mats to match the order on your screen. Once you are certain of the order of the mats, make sure that your first mat is again selected. Then click CONTINUE in the lower right corner of your screen.

Step 4: Card Stock Settings, Load Mat and Cut Materials

Once you click continue, your next screen will have your material selection menu. For this project, I am using the card stock setting of Card Stock for Intricate Cuts. Check to make sure that your Light Grip mats are in the correct order and match the sequence your software has prepared. Use your brayer to secure the card stock on the mat. Load and position your mat according to the mat guides. Begin your cut
